We deliver reforestation services to forest licensees, the mining industry, oil and gas providers, the public and woodlot owners across Canada.
Our team provides services on afforestation, reforestation and reclamation projects. This includes planting prescriptions, the provision of comprehensive budgets and tree sourcing using our buying power. Spectrum can field a large contingent of highly motivated and trained workers whenever and wherever required. We can tackle the demands of any size or type of planting project.
With more than 38 years of experience in the reforestation industry, our highly experienced workforce employs cutting-edge silviculture techniques using our Reforestation Management System (RMS) to provide constant control on quality and production, thereby ensuring excellent results. Safety is paramount at Spectrum and all of our crews are trained to adhere to the highest industry safety standards.

Compensation
Spectrum’s compensation is competitive with other tree planting companies. Companies in the industry at times advertise gross pay per tree, we pay a per tree rate and add statutory holiday pay and vacation pay in addition to the quoted per tree rate The per tree rate varies based on the contract. The Role
- Planting seedling trees.
- Seedling handling and care.
- Planting location selection.
- Tree quality and spacing inspection.
- Accurately record and document the number of trees planted.
- Load boxes, move equipment and assist in set up or take down of camp infrastructure.
- Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright Canada Holdings Ltd.’s culture of safety.
- Other duties may be assigned.
What You Bring
- Be physically fit for a demanding role with the ability to carry 50+ pounds.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment.
- A good work ethic, a positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a team environment.
- Commitment to Spring and Summer planting (mid-May to mid-August, April planting is optional)
- Preference may be given to candidates holding a valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License, or equivalent, and/or a B.C. Intermediate or Advanced First Aid certification or equivalent.
- Map reading skills.
- The ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
- Preparation for work in all weather conditions.
- Willingness to work, enjoy and live in a remote setting.
- English language proficiency (read, write, oral comprehension).
- A tent and a willingness to camp. Tree planters are responsible for bringing their own sleeping accommodation (e.g. tent, trailer), personal items including clothing, footwear, and toiletries. Planting equipment will be available for purchase.
What You Can Expect
- Competitive compensation.
- Spectrum’s tree planting camps are remote bush camps. Spectrum tree planting camps have a kitchen with meals provided, dining tents, bathrooms, shower facilities, first aid rooms, drinking water and Starlink internet access.
- Experienced Supervisors and Crew Leaders, drivers that are trained in-house through a resource road driver training program overseen by the BC Forest Safety Council. All management and safety-sensitive positions are deemed fit for duty through pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
- Training and mentorship throughout your tree planting journey. For years, Spectrum has maintained a 60-70% veteran planter ratio, giving new planters ample opportunity to learn from peers and have a high saturation of planter knowledge.
- A proactive approach to safety and injury prevention. Onsite OFA Level 3 first aid attendants who are trained specifically in tree planting-related injury prevention. Spectrum works with TotalPhysio and provides pre-season taping clinics to help with injury prevention and ongoing injury management, as well as access to virtual appointments with physiotherapists for quick and remote in-season injury assessment and injury management.
- A 3 day on, 1 day off schedule rotation.
- Planting as early as mid-April.
