Reforestation – Crew Leader

I grew up in a small farm town in southern Ontario. Most of my free time was spent playing sports with my friends, going on fishing and camping trips with my family, or nerding out for endless hours playing video games with my brother.

I spent most of my teenage years working labour jobs on a watermelon farm near where I lived. Little did I know that these years of getting my hands dirty and breaking my back would provide the perfect experience for tree planting.

When I first heard about tree planting, I was a first-year university student who jumped at the idea of a summer job spent getting lost in the woods and working with my hands every day.

I was just a small-town boy, taking the midnight plane going anywhere (beautiful Prince George).

What Planters Can Expect From Me

As a crew leader, planters can expect a professional yet fun environment. I vow to never be the reason for slowing anyone down from an organizational standpoint. Trees will always be delivered, and time will be managed wisely. At the same time, I strive to cultivate a fun work atmosphere where everyone can laugh through the potential struggles that tree planting may bring, never taking ourselves too seriously.

What I Expect From Planters

I expect everyone on my crew to find joy in both planting and camp life. Tree planting has significantly shaped my life for the better, and I hope to help create positive memories and experiences that others will carry with them for a long time to come.
