Sophie Guindon
Reforestation – Crew Leader
Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, I grew up surrounded by the vast beauty of the desert, developing a deep connection to nature from a young age. My journey to tree planting began after moving to Victoria, B.C., to study holistic nutrition, where I was introduced to a community of passionate planters and individuals from all over Canada. The allure of hard work, the outdoors, and the personal challenges tree planting presents sparked my passion for this demanding yet rewarding line of work.
With several seasons of planting experience, I’ve developed a strong work ethic and a deep understanding of the land I’m working to restore. My love for being outdoors, combined with my ability to tackle challenges head-on, has shaped me into a reliable and knowledgeable crew leader. As a crew boss, I’m dedicated to not only supporting my team but also sharing the knowledge and skills I’ve accumulated over the years. My goal is to help each planter grow, improve, and feel the immense pride of contributing to something much larger than themselves.
What Planters Can Expect From Me
Whether I’m offering guidance on techniques, ensuring the crew stays motivated, or celebrating each milestone we achieve together, I’m committed to fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. I’m proud to help my crew experience the sense of accomplishment that comes with a successful season.
What I Expect From Planters
For everyone to succeed in the bush, we must support one another and be respectful of each other. I expect my crew to be honest with themselves and show up every day to do their best.
