Tom Cooper
Reforestation – Project Coordinator & Supervisor
It’s a privilege to lead a camp for a company I joined as an aspiring planter in 2014. Starting without any personal connections, I was welcomed and found my footing in the planting world. Planting quickly became a central part of my life, with many challenges and even more growth opportunities. Over the years, I’ve had space to learn, contribute, and evolve with the reforestation team. Today, I’m proud of what has been built—a welcoming and supportive environment, especially for new Spectrum planters.
Outside of the bush, I call Vancouver, B.C. home. I’m usually in school or pursuing an ever-changing set of hobbies and passion projects. As a requirement for anyone on the coast, I spend much of my time outdoors — in the rain. I am not known to have the minimal coordination needed for sports.
If you’re curious about tree planting opportunities at Spectrum, feel free to reach out!

What Planters Can Expect from Me
A camp that prioritizes safety, clear communication, and a management team that supports your planting goals. I’m committed to fostering a cohesive, motivating, and healthy workplace for everyone. I’ll always advocate for planters, strive to improve industry standards, and ensure you feel valued beyond your title as a tree planter.
What I Expect from the Planters
I expect planters to set personal goals, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and, most importantly, have a plan to tackle the challenges of bush life.
Success as a planter goes beyond the number of trees you plant each day. Equally important is your ability to navigate social dynamics, communicate effectively, and advocate for yourself and others. No one has all the answers, and our camp thrives when everyone participates and shares their vision of tree planting.
